Business Overview

Adani New Industries Limited (ANIL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of AEL, is committed to establishing large-scale production facilities for Green Hydrogen and its derivatives through an integrated end-to-end ecosystem. ANIL focusses on the production of Green Hydrogen and its derivative products, including Green Ammonia, Green Methanol, Sustainable Aviation Fuel and manufacturing of Solar Cells & Modules, Wind Turbine Generators and Electrolysers, to meet the rising demand across diverse sectors in India and international markets.

ANIL achieved a major milestone in June 2025 by successfully commissioning India’s first off-grid 5 MW Green Hydrogen Pilot Plant in Kutch, Gujarat.

Green Hydrogen

Harnessing renewable energy sources like solar and wind to produce green hydrogen through advanced electrolysis technology. As a clean, sustainable energy carrier, green hydrogen is poised to play a transformative role in decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors and driving global efforts to mitigate climate change.

Green Hydrogen Derivatives

Developing high-value derivatives including Green Ammonia, a sustainable alternative for fertilisers and industrial applications; Green Methanol, an eco-friendly fuel and chemical feedstock that reduces emissions in shipping and petrochemicals; and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), a cleaner substitute for conventional jet fuel to decarbonise aviation. Together, these solutions form a comprehensive green energy portfolio that addresses hard-to-abate sectors and accelerates progress toward a net-zero future.

Electrolyser

ANIL is building an integrated electrolyser manufacturing ecosystem at Mundra, Gujarat, with advanced manufacturing, testing, and R&D capabilities and a strong focus on localisation. The facility is designed to manufacture 5 GW of electrolysers annually, along with critical components.

The Company also operates an advanced Electrolyser Testing Laboratory (ETL) for validation, performance testing, and value engineering of electrolyser technologies and components. Through its backward-integrated approach, ANIL strengthens quality control, optimises costs, and delivers high-performance electrolysers.

Business Edge

India's First Off-Grid 5 MW Green Hydrogen Plant

In line with its commitment to innovation and sustainability, ANIL achieved a major milestone in June 2025 by successfully commissioning India’s first off-grid 5 MW Green Hydrogen Pilot Plant in Kutch, Gujarat. Powered entirely by solar energy and integrated with the Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), the plant operates completely off-grid, setting a new benchmark for decentralised, renewable-powered New Energy production. Featuring a fully automated, closed-loop Electrolyser system, the facility dynamically responds to real-time renewable energy inputs, ensuring operational flexibility, efficiency, and safety. This breakthrough underscores ANIL’s leadership in advancing the green hydrogen economy, supporting India’s ambition to become a global hub for clean energy. The pilot serves as a proof of concept for ANIL’s upcoming New Energy Hub in Mundra, Gujarat, which will play a pivotal role in decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors such as fertilisers, refining, and heavy transport, while contributing to global net-zero goals.

Aligned with the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM) and India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, ANIL’s initiatives reduce import dependence, enhance energy self-sufficiency, and accelerate the decarbonisation of energy-intensive industries, reinforcing the Adani Group’s commitment to a sustainable future.
