Water stewardship is critical to operational resilience at AEL, particularly as climate change intensifies water stress across regions where we operate. Our approach focuses on reducing freshwater withdrawal, maximising reuse and recycling, and responsibly managing shared water resources. Guided by risk-based planning, geospatial tools, and technology enabled monitoring, we tailor site specific interventions to strengthen water security. We also work with communities and local stakeholders to enhance watershed resilience and long-term ecosystem health.
At Ahmedabad and Thiruvananthapuram airports, AEL deployed smart irrigation and AI-driven wastewater intelligence systems. These solutions optimise water use, reduce consumption significantly and enhance operational efficiency, showcasing how digital innovation strengthens water stewardship.
The Prayagraj STP is a critical intervention designed to treat wastewater from open drains before it enters the Ganga River, significantly reducing pollution and protecting this vital lifeline for millions. By intercepting and treating sewage at source, the project safeguards the river’s ecological health and water quality. The Prayagraj STP project is a transformative initiative that not only addresses wastewater treatment but also contributes significantly to environmental preservation. Adani Water Limited was honoured with the Build India Award 2026 by the Build India Foundation for this project, recognising its commitment to sustainable practices and contribution to India’s infrastructure development.
